The details behind verification, payment, and what happens when things don’t go to plan.
What does “verified” actually mean?
Four checks before a student can claim a job: a school email, current enrollment confirmed this semester, a government ID matched to their face and name, and a signed conduct agreement. You see the verification on their Proof Card before you pay.
When am I charged, and when is the student paid?
You pay when a student is matched. Funds are released after you confirm the work is done. If you don’t respond within 24 hours of the completion photo, the job is confirmed automatically.
What if I need to cancel?
More than 24 hours before your window: full refund, including fees. Within 24 hours: your base price is refunded and fees are retained. If a student doesn’t show, you get a full refund plus priority re-matching.
What won't students do?
No electrical, plumbing, roof access, ladders over 8 feet, tree work above head height, chemical application, or anything requiring a licensed trade. Tasks that need a licensed contractor stay with licensed contractors.
What is the Tassel Guarantee?
Every job includes the Tassel Guarantee — up to $500 in property protection per job. If something on your property is damaged during a job, report it within 48 hours and we’ll make it right up to that amount.
What happens if no student claims my job?
If no verified student claims your job before your time window, nothing is charged and anything already paid is refunded in full. You can repost with a different window or price in one tap.
Who exactly shows up?
The specific student on the Proof Card you saw when you were matched — their first name, school, class year, and verification. Students don’t send substitutes. If the person at your door doesn’t match the card, don’t let them in and report it to us.
How is my address handled?
Students see only your neighborhood until you confirm a match. Your street address is shared with your matched student after payment, and your phone number only if you choose to share it.
